The Scot had to pull out of the Singles contest before it even started due to thigh trouble and precautionary measures, and that move has paid off in style so far.

He and partner Joe Salisbury have weaved their way into the quarter-finals of the competition after defeating German duo Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz in the last round.

Other key players to watch out for will be Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev, competing in the Men's Singles tournament, though Naomi Osaka has made a shock exit from the Women's Singles.

Murray and Salisbury will compete against Croatian duo Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig.

The Croatians are familiar faces. Cilic ranked No.3 in the world for Singles after reaching the final of the 2018 Australian Open, thoug he has since slid to No.38.

Dodig reached No.29 in Singles back in 2013 but his main successes have come in Doubles where he ranks at No.11 in the world from a previous high of No.5 in 2015.

The Team GB pairing defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in their opening round, before ditching the Germans in the second round.
